Final Exam Merry Christmas and Have a Happy New Year

Today, I finished my final exam for this class. I had to make a christmas greeting card using some old projects such as, the couch, lego men, and the logging truck. I first, added the lego men and the couch. I colored one couch red and green and the other green and red. I shrunk down the lego men and had them sit on the couch. I then made the gifts from a cube and extruded certain areas and colored that green and the rest red. I then made the snowman out of spheres and colored them white. I then added the buttons, eyes, and mouth that are all black. I then added the carrot nose using a cone and coloring it orange. I then made the hat by using a disc and a cylinder, coloring them black and put it on top of the snowman. I then made the gifts bigger and put them on the logging truck. Then, I made the christmas tree using a cone and coloring it green and adding colored spheres as ornaments. I then added the star, adding a glowing white on top of the tree and put the smaller gifts around the tree. Then, I added two planes and put a picture of Santa Claus on one and the birth of Jesus on another one. Finally, I added text saying Merry Christmas on the right, Seasons Greetings on the left, and happy Holidays in the front, I then rendered it on global illumination and turned it in. Thank you guys, for being patient unfortunately, this is the last post that I will post this entire year. So please be patient and wait until next year please, I promise that I will post more completed projects in my senior year in Multimedia Production. And Have a Safe and Merry Christmas, and good bye until next year. Bye.

Car Tire and Chair

This week, I completed this car tire and chair. Sorry for the wait, my teacher Mr. Clausen is not here, so I had to make these under a substitute. Anyways, here are my projects. The image at the very top, is the car tire. I had to first make a cylinder and add segments and make it the shape of a tire. I then edited it and and had the two faces selected. I then used extrude, extrude inner, and bevel to make the faces smooth and look like a tire. I tried to do the next step and make the tire treads, but the program was outdated, so I did not so the step, instead I just added a black color to it, added a floor and two lights, rendered it and turned it in. Instead, it is a lego car tire, because it is smooth and lego is the largest tire manufacturer in the world. The next project that I did, was the chair that I sit in class. I made the actual chair part first, by tracing the shape and using a bezeir spline and an extrude nurbs. Then, I added the hole cut out in the chair for ventilation by tracing it with a bezeir spline and using an extrude nurbs I then used a boole, to, to make the hole. I then gave it a red color. I then made the legs, by using cylinders. 2 at the bottom of the chair to support the legs. I then made the legs by also using cylinders, but instead, I added a bend at the top to curve them and angled the legs. I then added the feet by using cylinders. I shrunk down a cylinder, to make the pegs to hold the feet and made the shell for the foot, out of a cylinder, shrunk down and had the height shrunken too. I then deleted the bottom of the shell and finally, added the actual foot out of a cylinder that was shrunken in the height and made the the caps smooth and put it under the shell. Finally, I added a chrome to the legs, pins, and shell and colored the feet a plastic white. I only made half of the legs, so I added the other half using a symmetry. And added a floor, and a light, rendered it and turned it in. Tomorrow, I have to take my final exam. Thank you, so much for waiting and please be patient for future posts.

Grandfather clock

Today, I completed my grandfather clock. First, I made the body out of 2 cubes. I made the top part with a spline and used an extrude nurb. Then I made the main body out of a cube. I then traced the part for the stuff that makes the clock work go inside and used a boole to cut out part of the cube. I then made the clock face out of a cube and added a clock face texture. I then made the counterweights out of cylinders. I then made the hooks by making them with a spline and using an extrude nurbs and putting them on the cylinders. I then made the pendulum out of a cube and a disc and made the cube long enough. I then made the chain out of connecting tubes. And made chain for the chain for the counterweights to hang and extra chain behind to make the counterweights work. I then gave the body a black wood texture and painted all the inards a chrome yellow or a gold color. I then added a floor and painted the floor pink and added a light and rendered it. Thank you all for viewing my blog and being patient. I do not know what the next project that I will do, but I will start learning how to animate, because most of the people in my class cannot even handle building, so I will start animating tomorrow, bye.

ball bearings, pens, and robotphone

Sorry, about the wait, but here are the projects that I made two weeks ago before thanksgiving break. But here they are. First, are the ball bearings. I had to use cubes, a tapir, and an array to make the teeth. I then created the part where the ball bearings go around that are made out of tubes. Then I smoothed them out inside to allow the ball bearings fit. I then created the ball bearings out of spheres and used an array. I then made the other part for the ball bearings to go around. I then painted the ball bearings with chrome and painted the tubes and teeth a chrome black and finally added an array light. I then made the pens. I did not get much to work with, but a chart for the cooridinates for all the parts to go. The pen is made out of circles connected with loft nurbs. And the tip is made out of a capsule. I then painted the chrome part chrome and the grip black. I then gave each pen it's own chrome color of the rainbow and black and white. I then laid out planes the same size and added pen art and comic art to each one and added an array light. I finally made the robot phone. I used the old ipod that I made for the robot phone. I began by creating the dial buttons out of cubes and painted them black and added the numbers and symbols. I the created the arms and legs. The arms are made out of cubes and spheres as joints so I can animate it. I then made the legs out of cubes and spheres and the feet are shrunken down ipods. I then made the hands by using the lego man's body as the main part for the hand. And the fingers are the same as the arms and the thumb is a shrunken down arm. I then painted the cubes and body a chrome red and the spheres chrome. I then posed the figure looking like, it is about to fight and copied that one and rotated it to make the two of them look like they are about to fight. Thank you for waiting. I was going to post yesterday, but I had to finish the grandfather clock, but here it is, in the next blog post.

Logging truck

Today, I have finished my logging truck project. The real toy truck, is wood and carries logs. To make it, I built the truck and the trailer separate, but I started with the truck first. All I got help from the teacher, were a few pictures of the front and back of the truck. The entire truck, is made entirely of separate individual shapes. There are cubes, cylinders, and tubes. But I started with the grill of the truck, by shrinking down a cube on the z axis. I then edited it and highlighted the areas I did not want on both sides to create the grill. Then I made the side panels and the engine hood. Then the fenders out of tubes, and then the wheels, which are made up of tubes and cylinders. Then I extruded part of the engine hood to make the inside of the truck. I then added the doors. And then incorporated the couch that I made earlier this year, as the seats in the truck. Then I added the steering wheel, which is made out of a cylinder. Then I added the other stuff on the truck and started to make the backside. I first made a cube, and made it longer and I filleted it to make smooth on the edges. And finally added the wheels and the part that hooks the trailer to the truck, which is a tire. Then, I made the trailer out of cubes, some parts I used the knife tool to make cuts in the object. I then added the wheels, and added on a wood texture. Then for the logs, I did not make them, but Mr. Clausen did, as a random act of kindness to the class. Finally, I made a shelf out of a cube and added a plane as a wall and added a light and set the rendering to global illumination and turned it in for a grade. My next project that I will post, will be pens that I am making currently, but anyways, goodbye.

Lego Men

Today, I have finished my lego men project. There are 11 lego men, as you can see. There is iron man, cyclops, black widow, captain America, Martian Manhunter, gold, silver, and bronze lego men, and a black, grey, and white glass lego men. To start, I had to just make one lego man and made 10 copies of them and added on superhero textures and custom glass colors and custom metal colors. I first, made the head of the lego man in three parts out of cylinders. For the head part, where the face is, I filleid to make it rounder. Then I made the bottom part, by first making the legs. The feet, I made out of cubes and the legs are also cubed to, with cylinders, to make the legs round to have them be able to move like on a real lego man. Then I made the crotch, out of a cylinder, and finally I made the torso out of a cube, that was flattened. Then I made the body out of a cube and used a tapir to make it go inwards. After connecting all the parts, I then made the arms, which was the hardest part of this project. I used cylinders and made them editable and bent them, to give the distinctive elbow joint on the lego man. And the hands are made out of tubes. And connected the hands to the arms, by making a smaller cylinder. Then I added textures and custom metal and glass textures, added a floor with a metal color with two array lights and global illumination on render settings and turned it in. Next week, I will post a wood truck that I have to do and thanks for supporting me and viewing my pages, because I have 500 page views. Thank you for Russia and the USA and have a happy veterans day and the US and thank you veterans for serving this country and stay tuned next week. Goodbye.

The Pencil Artist

Today, I have finished my pencil project in 3D animation. It is very beautiful to look at, but here are the steps I took, to create this. First, I made the pencil, by creating a cylinder and making the famous hexagon shape, then I made another cylinder and added a cone in it to make a boole. Then I added it to the pencil to give it the sharpened look. Then I extended it and cut it in half. Then I made the graphite tip with a graphite color. I then added a wood texture to the pencil to make it look like, it was sharpened. I then painted it a sand green. I then made the eraser by making a cylinder and making it slightly rounded. I then added the iconic pink color to the eraser. I then made the ferrule, which is the gold part that connects the eraser to the pencil. I connected the eraser to the ferrule, and used the knife tool to make cuts in the ferrule and extruded it inward. Then I added a hyper nurbs to the ferrule to make the famous rings on the ferrule. Finally, I made a metal texture and colred it gold to make it look like real gold. For the setup, I made a cup from a cylinder and added 7 copies of the pencil to the cup. Then I made three planes and put a pencil art texture on each of them. Then I added two more copies of the original pencil to each side of the pencil art, added a wood floor, an array light and rendered it with global illumination, which was the quickest global illumination ever and turned it for a grade. I will post whatever I make this week, or next week, but anyways, goodbye and have a happy, safe, and scary Halloween. Goodbye.

Stool

Today, I have finished this stool that I had to make. It is all the same size as the actual stool that I looked at reference to make it. First, I made the seat my making a cylinder and making the same size as the actual stool. Then I made the legs out of cubes extruded upwards. Then I made the blocks that go next to the legs. Then I positioned the legs between the blocks. Then I made the wooden bars that go in between the legs. Then I added a wood texture to all the parts and added a light. Rendered it and turned it in. The next project that I will post, will be a pencil, but anyways goodbye.

New and improved Chess set

Today, I have finished my chess set in class. I consists of a board, a floor, 16 pawns, 4 rooks, 4 knights, 4 bishops, 2 kings, and 2 queens. To make the pawn, I traced half of it and then used a lathe nurbs, to complete it and made 15 copies. Next, I made the knight by tracing half of the base and then using a lathe nurbs, next I traced the knight and added an extrude nurbs to finish it and made 3 copies. Then, I made the rooks, by tracing half of it and using a lathe nurbs, then I added a cube and extruded it and made a boole to make the turrets and made 3 copies. Next, I made the bishop by tracing half of it and using a lathe nurbs, then I created a cube and made a boole to create the slit in the bishop and made 3 copies. Then, I made the queen, by tracing half of it and then using a lathe nurbs and made 1 copy. Finally, I made the king, by tracing half of it and then using a lathe nurbs, finally I made the cross by tracing the cross and using an extrude nurbs on it and made 1 copy. I laid them out on the chess board in the correct order and added a glass texture clear and black. I made the chess board glass and the floor glass. Then I added an array light and global illumination and rendered it and had to wait 20 minutes. And then turned it in.

Wine glass and wine bottle

Today, I have finished my glass project. It consists of a wine glass and a wine bottle. First, I had to make a spline for the wine glass. Then I had to lathe it to be 3D. Then I added a glass texture to the wine glass. Then I made a spline for the wine and lathed it. I added a burgandy color to the material and added it on. Next, I made the wine bottle by making a spline. Then I made a spline for the cork and combined the two. Then I made the cork, then the black plastic. Then I made the liquid in the wine bottle by making a spline and adding a lathe nurbs and then adding the same burgandy texture onto the glass. I added the floor and then walls. Added textures, a sky and then zoomed in and waited 20 minutes for the jpeg and the tif file to render. I am going to do extra credit, so I won't be bored. But anyways, goodbye and I'll do a post either today, or next week.

MidTerm Project

Today, I have completed my midterm project. Mr. Clausen put an object in the middle of the room, and I had to create and turn it in for a grade. The object was a lamp. First, I created the light fixtures. I made a spline and then use a lathe nurbs to create the object. Then I added two cylinders, one for holding the switch in place and another that was the actual switch. I then made the base by creating a spline and also using a lathe nurbs. Then I created the pole that holds the lights, it is made out of three cylinders. Then I added three short cylinders to hold the light fixtures in place. Then I attached the three light fixtures onto the little poles and rotated them into position. Then I added textures and colors onto the object to make it look realistic. Finally, I added a light into each of the fixtures and a light above with a floor, added shadows and toned down the brightness of the lights to 50%. I rendered it and turned it in. I don't know what I'll do next week, but I will keep posting of what I do. Goodbye.

Deck chair, Park Bench, iPod

This week, I have completed three projects. They are the deck chair, the park bench, and the iPods. The deck chair, was medium-hard to make, because it required a new technique that I have not learned before, which was arranging objects along a spline. And making copies of the objects. Every part of it was using splines and nurbs. The park bench was hard, because it required the same technique. The problem, is that the tutorials are out of date, they are from 2007, and were very hard to understand. The iPod was very quick to make. Then I went all out on it, by adding a click wheel texture, custom metal colors and album art. There are six colors green, red, blue, grey, black, and pink. I hope you enjoy them. I will do my midterm tomorrow, goodbye.

New and refined i MAC

Today, I have completed my i MAC project, and here it is. I had to use many tools to create this. I have had to use many nurbs to connect everything. But I started out with the square part, then I created the part for the CD to go into, which I had to use a boole object, then the black part, and then the screen. I then built the aluminum support for the computer. Also, I had to go through the many steps to create the different silvery colors for the base and the main part of the computer. For the desktop image, I had to import one from the internet and then go through a few steps to make it nice, and then I applied it on the screen, it is a picture of the Brotherhood of Steel's power armor from the video game FALLOUT. Finally for the textures, I downloaded an image of a black apple logo from the internet, went through a few steps on it, applied it to a plane and then blended it with the computer. Finally, I added a light array and rendered it. It took about 25 minutes for 3 images to just be rendered. I hope you enjoy it, and I will post the next that I finish, good bye.

FALLOUT room

This week, I had to do another room, and here it is, the finished and final room. It is based on a video game, the video game that this based on, is FALLOUT. The room, consists of two lamps, two couches, a tv cabinet, a tv, 3 dining chairs, a dining counter, and two miscellaneous objects. The TV that you see, is a FALLOUT inspired TV, but with a twist on it. You cannot see the image on the Tv, because it is too small and too far, but it has a family sitting around it, with text saying Not an actual atomic blast. The image is from the FALLOUT games. The couches, are also FALLOUT inspired couches, they have a white couch texture on them. And everything, that is metal, is chromed, with the amount of reflection toned down. Anyways, I'll post something next week, which will be an iMAC. Anyways, goodbye.

Final First Room

This week, I worked on this room. We had one week to do it, and I got it done. The stuff for the room that I made is a couch, coffee table, side table, lamp, picture frame, TV cabinet, and a TV. The room that you see right now consists of 2 couches, 2 coffee tables, 2 side tables, 2 lamps, 2 picture frames, a TV cabinet, and a TV. I did a lot of things to create this room. I had to use a sweep nurb, extrude nurb, loft nurb, and a hyper nurb. As you can see, there are pictures. In the picture frame there is a picture of 2 kittens playing, in the TV, it is a picture from the movie Transformers. Ialso added a lot of textures and colors, but I hope you enjoy looking at it, it is pretty nice. I also have to build another room next week, on my own. But I won't tell you what it is, except, that it is going to be based on a video game.

Room

This week, I am building a room. These are some of the objects that I have built. A coffee table, a side table, a couch, and a lamp. I used the extrude, lathe, and loft nurbs. I am also supposed to build other stuff to create the room, but I will post other objects that I create and will post the final roomm next week. Anyways, I hope for you to wait next week, to see the final project, bye.

Lathe Nurbs

This week, I also did this project as classwork for a grade. I used a special tool for this kind of stuff, called a bezeir spline, it is named after the spinning wheel used to round clay objects. It is also the same on Cinema 4D, it is used to make round objects like these and others on the program. Commercially, this is used to make bowls, candles, and other round objects. I only had to create half of the object with the spline. Then I use a special nurb, called a lathe nurb, it rounds out the whole object, and makes it round all 360 degrees. The objects that you see, are a bowl, plate, vase, wine glass, cup, coke bottle, and a bullet for the M2 .50 caliber. I then added a floor and a sky. I then put them in various positions, zoomed in and rendered it and trned it in for a grade. I will make another post again next week, but anyways goodbye.

Dice and the Pawn

This week, I have these two images. The one at the top is a pair of dice. It is red and has white dimples. I did this by having a cube, creating a sphere, adding a boole to the sphere on the cube and cutting out half of the sphere and creating a dimple in the cube. I then used the control key and copied each sphere to create dimples on the cube on each face to create the different numbers. I then colored them and turned them in. The bottom image is a pawn, I know what you're going to say, where is the rest of the chess set. We are working up to it and learning how to do each piece, because most of the people in the classroom are beginners and have no idea what to do. I will post again when I have created another project, but otherwise goodbye.

Extruding

This week, I did these two projects using the extrude tool. On the top is a bunch of stuff that I did just messing around. There is the landscape with spikes which is representing the fortress of solitude, a weird and beautiful shape that I made and colored it blue. There are also a bunch of shapes there and a borg cube with a borg cube texture. The one at the bottom is more interesting, because it is a space ship. It is a starwars/startrek inspired ship. It is inspired by the klingon bird of prey. And has glowing lasers, engines, and toredos which are little red spheres. The entire ship is made out of a single cube.

First begginnings

These pieces were created by me in Contemporary design on a desktop computer for the first time. This in fact, was the very first pieces of work that we did in here and is called the fall off communism. The first piece that you see was a fun little experiment with drawing shapes. I used the lasso and the paint bucket to create this cyan colored shape. The other piece below is called the ruler of nations, was also created by me using ... well actually both of these pieces were created using photoshop. I used premade pictures, paint bucket, and type. This was the first piece that I used type, pictures, and 3D styles and the mixing of colors using paint bucket on the entire piece.
